Appendix 1 (in tab below) contains the procedures which will be implemented if a COVID-19 event occurs.
Changes since original version of 18 June 2020
It is the strong advice of the Premier, and of the Archbishop in his letter to the clergy, that face masks should be worn when in a confined space over an extended period. Accordingly, we are strongly recommending the use of face masks for all students, faculty and staff, as outlined below, from Monday 10 August 2020 and until advised otherwise.
All students are strongly recommended to wear face masks during chapel, in lectures, as you line up to collect your lunches, in chaplaincy groups and whenever you are required to be in close proximity to others and may find it difficult to keep social distancing protocols. This might include times like morning tea.
(ii) JCH Residents
While JCH residents should follow the strong recommendation above in all public areas of the College, we are not recommending the use of face masks within the residence itself. This is because the JCH residents are considered part of a single household (though one larger than many others in the community).
(iii) Faculty and Staff
All faculty and staff are also strongly recommended to wear face masks while in close quarters in enclosed spaces, as, for example, when in a committee meeting.
(iv) Travel to College
If you are travelling on public transport to and from College, please follow the strong recommendation of the NSW Premier to wear a face mask when using the public transport network.
It is the responsibility of each member of the College community to procure their own face masks. The College will only be providing Personal Protective Equipment (including face masks) to staff members who have the most direct and regular contact with students and visitors to the College (concierge, cleaning, kitchen and maintenance).
