The John Chapman Preaching Clinic affords a small group of ministers to go away and work on preaching skills together.
The retreat this year will focus on Jeremiah.
There will also be ample time for rest and refreshment, good food, and time together under God’s Word. By the generosity of the John Chapman Bequest, we are able to offer this clinic at a subsidised rate.
Speaker – Gary Millar
Gary has been married to Fiona for many years, and together, they have three daughters: Lucy, Sophie and Rebekah. Born in Northern Ireland, Gary lived in Scotland, England and the Republic of Ireland before moving to Brisbane, but still hasn’t lost his accent. In his role as Principal of Queensland Theological College, he gets to do three things that he loves deeply: preach weekly in college chapel, teach the gospel from the Old Testament, and equip men and women for a lifetime of gospel ministry. He also has had the opportunity to write books on Deuteronomy, Kings, Prayer, Preaching and the basics of the Christian Life (e.g. Read This First: A simple guide to getting the most from the Bible). He is a Council Member of The Gospel Coalition Australia, and part of Mitchelton Presbyterian Church in Brisbane. He is a slightly obsessive (slow) runner and a bad golfer.

Who should come?
Men and women serving in Bible teaching roles and/or coaching men or women in such roles. We love having staff teams come together. We’re often asked what level experience is recommended; year on year we have a range from students to bishops, with most being senior ministers. We’ve found the mix stimulates excellent conversation.
