HomeFacultyDr Veronica Hoyt

Dr Veronica Hoyt

Director of the Priscilla and Aquila Centre.
Ministry Department.

Qualifications: BA (Hons); Master of Theological Studies; PhD English.

For most of my adult life and especially in my years in local church ministry I have loved walking alongside women in their growing understanding of the Scriptures and its life changing application for them in each season of life, in all its joys and sorrows. It is a privilege to continue this at Moore College, and to play a part in men and women being equipped to go out to serve the Lord wherever he will send them. When I’m not at college, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, exploring historical places of interest or the natural beauty of Sydney and its stunning harbour, or discovering quirky bookshops and coffee shops.

Family: I am married to Berwyn, and we attend St Giles Anglican Church in Greenwich. We have one son, Emlyn, who is doing an MTS at an Anglican church in Sydney.

Research interests: Complementarian theology and practice; Ministry and Pastoral Care; 19th century Australian and British history (both church and secular); Key shifts in the social, cultural, and political landscapes in Australia in the 20th century.

Journal articles

“Complementarian Ministry in Australia and New Zealand,” Reformed Theological Review 82.1 (2022): 61-85.
