Prayer

Philippians 4:6 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.”

Prayer Points

Moore College knows the importance and imperative of prayer to God’s work at the college.

The College has a number of ongoing ways by which prayer and praise points are circulated for prayer supporters to use for their individual or group prayers, including through PrayerMate.

A Quarterly Prayer Bulletin publication is produced which you can receive by mail or email.

Pray with us

Women Praying for Moore

The Prayer Support Group is a group of women from all over Sydney that meets together to pray for the needs of the College, its faculty, students and staff.  We are always looking for new women to join us as we express our dependence on God for all things. It is a joy to hear about how God is working in the lives of our students and their families and to find out firsthand how we can best pray for college and its faculty, students and staff. See when the next Prayer Support Group is on.

Men’s Prayer Breakfasts

Twice a year, Moore College also runs a prayer breakfast for men. It is an opportunity to fellowship over breakfast, hear from a speaker, and pray for the needs for the College. We want to invite all men to come along and pray for the faculty, students and staff. See when the next Men’s Prayer Breakfast is on.

January Prayer Points
1-January-26Liam Thompson (Bachelor of Theology, P34). Pray for the many people moving into south west Sydney, that Camden Valley Baptist Church and many other ministries would be lights in the area and see people saved.
2-January-26Mal York (Faculty, P49). Praise God for Mal’s wonderful first year on the Faculty and for how well his family has settled into life in Newtown. Pray that Mal, Heather, and their four adult children would continue to deepen their love for and service of Jesus.
3-January-26Pray for Faculty member Dan Wu as he teaches on Proverbs at CMS Summer School, and pray that God would grant clarity and faithfulness as he points us to Christ, the wisdom of God. Ask that attendees would grow in gospel-shaped wisdom and be stirred to support and serve in cross-cultural mission.
4-January-26Jo Hearne (Adv Dip of Theol Studies). Please pray for wisdom and energy as I juggle multiple areas of life: student wife, work, ministry, family and supporting my husband Tim as he continues studying.
5-January-26Lilian Ireland (Advanced Diploma). Please pray that we would be joyfully encouraged by and encouraging to the ministry of Campus Bible Study at University of NSW, that many on campus will be saved and have eternal life in Jesus. Pray for wisdom and patience as we parent, teach, and train our kids and welcome another baby in 2026.
6-January-26Susie Wright (Advanced Diploma). Thank God for the opportunity and enormous privilege it’s been to study his word part time in order to equip me for the tasks of teaching the children at Willoughby Park Anglican Church and the students at the local high school.
7-January-26Josh Ventura (Bachelor of Divinity, P43). Please pray that the Lord would provide for our needs as we trust him with this next stage of our lives and seek to serve him faithfully on the South Coast as a pastor at the Reformed Heritage Church in the Shoalhaven region.
8-January-26Joshua Sawyer (Bachelor of Divinity, P43). Please pray that more and more people will be transformed by God’s grace as my family begins to serve at Grace West Anglican.
9-January-26Veronica Hoyt (Faculty, P48). Thanks God for his provision in my first year on the Faculty: for health and strength, a supportive working environment, and many moments of joy throughout 2025, as well as the opportunities to serve. Please pray for rest and refreshment over the summer. Thank God for Berwyn and Emlyn, for their love for the Lord Jesus, and for the home life we enjoy together. Please pray for both of them in their ministry commitments in 2026 — Berwyn part-time at St Giles, Greenwich, and Emlyn in his second MTS year at St Stephen’s, Willoughby.
10-January-26Jeremy Robinson (Bachelor of Theology, P33). Please pray that I will faithfully discern the right role for me to enable me to apply what I have learned at College to help young people grow to love and trust Jesus. Currently pursuing options in Victoria.
11-January-26Khanh Nguyen (Bachelor of Divinity, P42). I’m preparing to plant a new Vietnamese congregation under an Anglican church in South-West Sydney. Please pray that the church planting plans will go smoothly and that the new congregation will, God willing, begin in February 2026.
12-January-26Marcus Robertson (Bachelor of Divinity, P42). Assistant Minister, St George North Anglican Church. Please pray that God would continue to lead us (Marcus, Naomi, Angus, and Bonnie) as captives in Christ’s triumphal procession and use us to spread the aroma of the knowledge of him everywhere. Pray that we as a family would proclaim the gospel with boldness, and be used by God to see thousands upon thousands in the St George area come to have Christ as their saving king.
13-January-26Bill Walton (Bachelor of Divinity, P43). Please pray that Gloria and I would learn to balance multiple roles and relationships across academic and parish ministry next year.
14-January-26Matthew Bakon (Bachelor of Divinity, P41). CMS Missionary in training: future ministry in Vanuatu contributing to translation work. Pray for the translation of the Bible into the 138 languages of Vanuatu so that believers might see God not as a foreigner, but as their own Heavenly Father.
15-January-26Naomi Tompkins (Bachelor of Divinity, P43). Praise God for the privilege of going out to do ministry full-time together as a family in Armidale for two years. Pray that as Chris and I welcome a baby in March we will be dependent on our Father in all things, seeking to have him at the centre of our family and ministry. Pray that we will selflessly love others with the amazing truth of the Gospel!
16-January-26Nelson Parker (Bachelor of Divinity, P42). Pray that God would grow us all through the next few years of ministry in Sydney in faith, hope, love, and zeal as we look towards a future in overseas mission.
17-January-26Nikhil Kurien (Bachelor of Divinity, P42). Praise God for the opportunity to serve the saints at Narellan Anglican Church, to contend alongside them for winning people for Jesus and living in light of his return. Pray asking for God’s blessing on this ministry for his glory!
18-January-26Rehan Prins (Bachelor of Divinity, P42). Pray as we seek to establish a core team to start a new off-site congregation in Western Sydney, that the group is spiritually healthy and evangelistically effective in people coming to faith and grow in Jesus.

20-January-26Mark Huang (Bachelor of Divinity, P42). Please join me in praising God for the Assistant Minister role at Trinity South Christchurch (Church of Confessing Anglicans NZ). Pray that God would give me wisdom, conviction, faithfulness, humility, and creativity for pastoral ministry and as I preach God’s word regularly, and grant my family — my wife Helen and our sons, Elliot and Oliver — a smooth transition, settled spirits, and deep community as we return to New Zealand.
21-January-26Brian Hamilton (Bachelor of Divinity, P42). Praise God for the opportunity to work with AFES at Melbourne University Christian Union. Please pray for God to provide prayer and financial partners to enable me to work there.
22-January-26Adriel Stephen (Bachelor of Divinity, P43). Please pray for a productive ministry for our household as we join the family at St Paul’s Carlingford, and for our family to bear testimony to the goodness of the Gospel and the transformation God brings.
23-January-26Annika Jolliffe (Bachelor of Divinity, P42). Please pray that as I get to know my new role as the Children’s Minister at St Michael’s Cathedral Wollongong and Corrimal, that I’d know how to learn humbly while also being proactive and bold in my decision making.
24-January-26Ben Radloff (Bachelor of Divinity, P42). Give thanks for the opportunity to serve in the 5pm congregation at St Thomas’ North Sydney over the coming years. Pray that both my private and public life would all be lived for the glory of God.
25-January-26Hamish Sullivan (Bachelor of Divinity, P43). Pray that we (me, my wife Priscilla, and our children Arthur (3) and Xanthe (three months)) would keep pointing one another to our identity in Christ in the midst of all the change (moving house, moving church – Narellan Anglican, new relationships, new preschool, new routines etc.).
26-January-26Give thanks for God’s kindness in granting us this land and for the many blessings we enjoy in Australia. Pray that our nation would acknowledge God as Creator and Redeemer, and that Christians would be faithful witnesses to Christ’s lordship in every sphere of life. Ask that we would pursue justice, compassion, and reconciliation in ways that reflect the gospel and bring glory to God.
27-January-26Samuel Ogg (Bachelor of Divinity, P42). Pray for Grace, Tommy, Josie and I as we make the big move from Newtown to Lightning Ridge, that we would trust in the goodness of God and share the good news of Jesus with this community as we learn what ministry in remote Australia looks like, that all Christ’s sheep might know the love of their good shepherd.
28-January-26Pray that the 2026 P&A Annual Conference next Monday, would deepen understanding of what it means to belong together in Christ. Ask that all who attend—whether in person or online—would be encouraged and challenged by God’s word, equipped to serve faithfully across all seasons and contexts of ministry, and shaped by the gospel to reflect true unity, compassion, and holiness in God’s family.
29-January-26Timothy Chan (Bachelor of Divinity, P41).
