AMCL2025: A Biblical Theology of Faith – Lecture 2
This is the second lecture in the 2025 Annual Moore College Lectures on the theme A Biblical Theology of Faith, where Dr Peter Orr explores faith in God alone in the Prophets and the Psalms.
In this second lecture, Dr Peter Orr continues his biblical theology of faith by examining how the prophets and the Psalms build upon the Old Testament foundations of faith. He explores the personal and communal nature of trust in God, the internal dynamics of faith, and how faith is expressed through stillness, exclusivity, and perseverance. With insight into Isaiah, Jeremiah, Habakkuk, and the Psalter, Dr Orr shows how faith is both a response to God’s promises and a Spirit-given knowledge that defines the truly righteous.
This talk sets the stage for further reflections on Jesus’ own faith in the New Testament lectures to come.
