Partner with us in equipping students to preach Christ faithfully
Your generosity helps train men and women to proclaim Jesus Christ clearly and compellingly from every part of Scripture.
“For what we proclaim is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord.”
– 2 Corinthians 4:5
At Moore College, every lecture, chapel gathering, and small group is shaped by one conviction — that Jesus Christ is Lord, and the world needs to hear his gospel proclaimed clearly and faithfully.
Faculty members Paul Grimmond and Tom Habib have developed a model of preaching to give a shared language and unified approach to the task. Students complete a week of preaching intensive in both their first and second years. In third and fourth years, students preach in chapel congregations and receive targeted feedback from their peers, faculty and chaplains. Optional preaching groups also provide further opportunities to hone their abilities.

Jonty’s story: Learning to preach Christ from all of Scripture
When Jonty arrived at Moore from the UK, he already had years of ministry experience. But College refined his approach for faithful preaching.
“Preaching is not about performing or presenting ideas. It’s about opening God’s word so that people encounter Christ and are changed by him.”
Now in his fourth year, Jonty helps lead a preaching group of his own — passing on what he has learned to others preparing for ministry.
Nat’s story: Growing in preaching the gospel through all the Scriptures
“At the start, I thought I knew what preaching was about. But I’ve been really challenged to think theologically — to proclaim the gospel through all the Scriptures so that God’s people grow in the obedience of faith.”
“I became a Christian because someone preached the gospel to me from the Scriptures. That’s why I want to learn to preach faithfully — so others can come to know Christ too.”
Nat’s journey reflects what happens across our College community — students being shaped by God’s word to proclaim Christ with conviction, clarity, and compassion.

Gifts in Wills (Bequests)
The College has been blessed through the gifts in wills of several supporters over the years. Major gifts at the end of life have been of great importance to the College. In fact, Moore College began as the result of a gift in a will. When Thomas Moore passed away in 1840, he gifted a large portion of his estate to the establishment of a college in Sydney.
Moore Theological College was opened in 1856 with three students and one tutor. Since then, thousands of students have graduated from accredited courses, and the Moore Preliminary Theological Certificate course is being used in over 50 different countries.
Almost two centuries since that initial gift, we’d like to ask you to prayerfully consider joining this important ministry through making a gift in your own will to Moore College.
If you would like to register with the College in making a gift in your will, please contact the Moore College Partnerships, on 02 9577 9900 or email [email protected].
The suggested wording for a gift in your will follows. Note that these words may be varied and made more specific depending on the wishes of the donor. If doing so, it would be good to have someone check the wording with the Moore College Partnerships if in any doubt.
I give *either the sum of …………………. (words or figures for a $ amount), or ………………………. (words or figures for a %) percentage of my estate, to Moore Theological College Council for the general purposes (or specific purpose) of the college, and I declare that the receipt of the treasurer of the College Council shall be a full and sufficient discharge to the executor.
*if the gift is of shares or real property or artwork then sufficient words to identify same should be substituted.
