HomeFacultyDr Philip Kern

Dr Philip Kern

Head of New Testament Department.

Qualifications: BS (EBC), MA, MDiv (TEDS), PhD (Sheffield)

Amy and I, and our two children (Alexandra and Philip Stephen), came to Australia as missionaries in 1995, and have been at Moore College since 1998. Eliot and James joined the family after we arrived at Moore. Alex lives in the US. Philip S, with his wife Georgina and son Calvin, are near Brisbane. Eliot and Mikaela live in Notting Hill, England, and James is working toward becoming an electrician here in Sydney. Whenever possible, we attend Lighthouse Church on the Central Coast. I enjoy motorcycle or bicycle riding and reading–especially history or biography. The highlight of our year is attending CMS Summer School, where we hear about missions, catch up with friends, and get good Bible teaching.

Family: Phillip is married to Amy, and they have four children.

Research interests: include John’s Gospel, Galatians, and biblical narratives.
