Prayer

Philippians 4:6 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.”

Prayer Points

Moore College knows the importance and imperative of prayer to God’s work at the college.

The College has a number of ongoing ways by which prayer and praise points are circulated for prayer supporters to use for their individual or group prayers, including through PrayerMate.

A Quarterly Prayer Bulletin publication is produced which you can receive by email.

Pray with us

Women Praying for Moore

The Prayer Support Group is a group of women from all over Sydney that meets together to pray for the needs of the College, its faculty, students and staff.  We are always looking for new women to join us as we express our dependence on God for all things. It is a joy to hear about how God is working in the lives of our students and their families and to find out firsthand how we can best pray for college and its faculty, students and staff. See when the next Prayer Support Group is on.

Men’s Prayer Breakfasts

Twice a year, Moore College also runs a prayer breakfast for men. It is an opportunity to fellowship over breakfast, hear from a speaker, and pray for the needs for the College. We want to invite all men to come along and pray for the faculty, students and staff. See when the next Men’s Prayer Breakfast is on.

May Prayer Points
1-May-25Give thanks for the encouragement of many Easter services in churches over the last month. Pray that God would use the sharing of the gospel to bring many people to Him.
2-May-25Rosie and Oli Mullins (3rd year, p24 and p13): Please pray for my husband Oli and I as we settle into married life, that we will serve one another joyfully. Pray also for me as I begin gathering and serving at Jannali Anglican, that I would become familiar with the saints and love to serve them!
3-May-25Sam Begg (3rd year, p22): Thank God for another year of studying his word with his people. I’d love prayer that I’ll make the most of this final year of study and for wisdom in how best to serve him post-College.
4-May-25Abby and Ben Vanmidde (3rd year, p25): Pray that God would grow us in humble dependence on himself as we study at College and serve at St Andrew’s Cathedral. Pray that God would make it clear to Ben and me where he would have us serve him post-College.
5-May-25Pray for those in our College community who are settling into parenthood for the first time, while they also balance other College commitments. For that the College community would be one that supports each other through different stages of life during their time of study.
6-May-25Jenny Tait (3rd year, p25): Please pray that I will grow in my love and knowledge of God. Ask that this would lead to more gospel opportunities and that I would be wise and diligent in my College studies.
7-May-25Give thanks for the opportunity to hold a Centre for Christian Living Seminar on ‘Neurodivergence and the Christian Life’ tonight. Pray that those who attend would be challenged as they reflect on their ministries as they listen to what is shared with them.
8-May-25Pray for boldness and efficiency as churches and organisations follow up people that came to evangelistic events and services during Mission week. Pray that ongoing conversations would be clear and fruitful in helping people understand the gospel.
9-May-25Nick Meuli (3rd year, p24): My home New Zealand now reports over 50% ‘no religion’ in the 2023 census. Pray that Christians would be spurred onto evangelism, for faithful evangelical churches, and for many new disciples in this harvest field!
10-May-25On this Mother’s Day, praise God for the role that mothers play in our lives and give thanks to the mums who have had a positive impact on many students, faculty and staff who make up the current College community. Pray that God would comfort those for whom Mother’s Day is hard due to separation, past hurts or grief.
11-May-25Victor and Kath Jong (3rd year, p23): Please pray that God would continue to grow Kath and I in our marriage and that we would serve each other well. Please pray that God would give us guidance and wisdom in thinking about where to serve Christ and His people in the future. Please pray that God would keep growing me in love and knowledge of Himself whilst I study at College.
12-May-25Pray for the women who are gathering today to pray about the life of the College. Pray that this ministry would continue to be an encouragement to those who attend to pray.
13-May-25Pray for those potential future students who are attending the Open Night tonight. Pray that any questions would be answered as they consider study at College.
14-May-25Pray that this week would go smoothly as many visitors and future students visit the College for Open Week. Pray for the team organising as they facilitate the week.
15-May-25Tash McConnell (3rd year, p24): Thank God for providing many new opportunities this year for church and at College. Ask that God would grow in me curiosity, courage, patience and pastoral skills over this next year.
16-May-25Nathanael and Chloe Muscat (3rd year, p24): Pray that our kids will know and love Jesus through the gospel and be bold to speak it to others. Pray that we’ll be godly parents who teach the gospel clearly and engagingly to our kids.
Ask that College will prepare us to shepherd God’s flock faithfully, humbly and generously.
17-May-25Matthew and Winona Radloff (3rd year, p24): Please pray for me as I learn how to be a dad while studying. Ask our heavenly Father to grant me the ability to love and care for my wife and daughter so that I can lead them both in God’s word and put their interests above my own.
18-May-25Please pray for the students enrolled in the Advanced Diploma of Bible, Mission and Ministry course, that God’s Spirit will continue to work in them so that they will grow in their love and knowledge of God. Give thanks for the opportunity they have to study different topics through the lay, mission and ministry streams available.
19-May-25Jonny and Jo Hann (3rd year, p23): Ask the Lord to give us energy after our move from Wollongong and the birth of our first child Charlie in November. Ask that we would have wisdom in managing both of our study loads as we are both studying this year (Jo p/t), and that we would learn how to minister well with Two Ways/St Nic’s Coogee.
20-May-25Mark and Kathryn Thompson (Faculty, p48): Give thanks for the remarkable unity of faculty, governors and staff in the vision and mission of the College – pray it might be protected. Pray for wisdom, discernment, courage, humility, and especially faithfulness, as Mark leads the College and is involved in decisions with long-term consequences. Pray that Mark and Kathryn would have energy and wisdom in balancing the needs of family (especially elderly members), the College, CMS, and the Diocese.
21-May-25Pray for the health of all those in the College community who are unwell, or suffer with chronic illnesses as we head into the winter months.
22-May-25Paul Grimmond, Faculty. Please pray for me as I take on the role of the Head of the Ministry Department and for our new Department members (Mal York and Veronica Hoyt). Pray that the ministry department would work together for the growth of our students in their love for Jesus and their faithfulness in ministry. Pray for wisdom, energy, and clarity as we work out how to work together.
23-May-25Pray for those students who are struggling with learning biblical languages. Pray that they would be bold in asking for help, be persistent with their study and encouraged by what they’re learning.
24-May-25Dan Mak (3rd year, p24): Please pray for much growth in a busy year, not only in knowledge but also in faith, love, and hope. Pray too as I continue to settle into a new church (Lidcombe Anglican); for the Lord’s help and equipping for Cantonese ministry.
25-May-25Brendan and Gloria Nelson (3rd year, p24): Pray for Gloria, myself and Elias (2 month old) as we settle into life as family of 3. Pray that he would know the Lord! Pray for deep reflection this year on who God is and to let that shape my life and practice.
26-May-25Tom Catchpoole (3rd year, p22): Please pray that I would grow in wisdom and godliness as I seek to serve God’s church in Sydney. Thank God for my time at College! And pray that I would be well-equipped for a lifetime of ministry through my studies.
27-May-25Tom and Ally Stanton (3rd year, p25): Give thanks to God that our move into College community and to our new church in Neutral Bay has been filled with blessing and joy. Ally and I feel lots of gratitude to God in this season. Please pray that we would learn to love our new communities well and be people who desire the glory of our Saviour above our own.
28-May-25Daniel and Cassia Heard (3rd year, p23): We’ve started a new church this year at All Saint Woollahra. Pray for my family as we settle in and try to find ways to serve the people there.
29-May-25Jess Gunawan (3rd year, p23): Pray for wisdom and clarity in taking up the role of creche team leading at Auburn Anglican Church. Pray for the growth of trust and deep relationships with creche parents & children. Pray also for my health to improve as I begin taking medication for hypothyroidism. Pray for wisdom and dependence on God in having helpful work and rest patterns in light of a reduced capacity with hypothyroidism symptoms.
30-May-25Give thanks for all the students celebrating their graduation at the PTC Graduation ceremony tonight. Pray that this would be an encouraging night for the students as they reflect on all that they have learnt.
31-May-25Pray for Tom Habib as he finalises the preparations for the John Chapman Preaching Initiative ‘College of Preachers’ Intensive happening next month. Pray that those who attend would find the time useful as they think through a Christ-centred, Scripture-based, and goal-oriented model of preaching.
