Prayer

Philippians 4:6 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.”

Prayer Points

Moore College knows the importance and imperative of prayer to God’s work at the college.

The College has a number of ongoing ways by which prayer and praise points are circulated for prayer supporters to use for their individual or group prayers, including through PrayerMate.

A Quarterly Prayer Bulletin publication is produced which you can receive by email.

Pray with us

Women Praying for Moore

The Prayer Support Group is a group of women from all over Sydney that meets together to pray for the needs of the College, its faculty, students and staff.  We are always looking for new women to join us as we express our dependence on God for all things. It is a joy to hear about how God is working in the lives of our students and their families and to find out firsthand how we can best pray for college and its faculty, students and staff. See when the next Prayer Support Group is on.

Men’s Prayer Breakfasts

Twice a year, Moore College also runs a prayer breakfast for men. It is an opportunity to fellowship over breakfast, hear from a speaker, and pray for the needs for the College. We want to invite all men to come along and pray for the faculty, students and staff. See when the next Men’s Prayer Breakfast is on.

June Prayer Points
1-June-25Give thanks for the opportunity that students, faculty and chaplains had to go on College missions last month. Give thanks for the times where the gospel was able to be shared.
2-June-25Britt Hassell (2nd year, p12): Give thanks for a fruitful student ministry role with Emu Music, for many opportunities to teach and grow in my own skills. Pray for wisdom in managing the increased College workload alongside these ministry commitments, and for provision while raising support for my studies. Give thanks for my recent engagement to Nich, and pray for God’s leading and wisdom as we prepare for marriage and future ministry together.
3-June-25Give thanks for the recent 1st year weekend away. Thank God for the opportunities that it provided for the 1st year community to get to know each other better. Praise God for the faithful teaching from Faculty Tom Habib over the weekend from the gospels.
4-June-25Pray for the churches and organisations who are involved in following up people who engaged with events on College mission. Pray that many would come to a saving faith in Jesus.
5-June-25Tilly Sutton (2nd year): Please pray for my family and I as we mourn my Grandfather’s passing and that we would rejoice, as we rest in the knowledge that he is now in glory with our Lord. Pray for physical energy and mental strength to catch up on Greek and Hebrew study.
Pray that God would welcome the many unbelievers attending Christianity Explored at my church (MBM Blacktown) into his kingdom. Pray also for perseverance for the unbelievers seeking Jesus who are from Muslim communities. That they would not give up investigating Jesus despite the threat of persecution.
6-June-25Sibin & Josephine Varghese (2nd Year, p15): Pray for my continued post-op recovery and for strength this term—physical, spiritual, and mental renewal. Thank God for the support I have received from the College community, and that settling back into College life is going well.
7-June-25Evan Oei (2nd year, p13): Please pray for term 2 for Hope Youth, that God will sustain us leaders and give us wisdom, creativity and love for the youth. Please pray that the youth will grow in their love and knowledge of God as we go through Exodus. Please pray that I will remain diligent and faithful in my studies but it would lead me to grow in my delight in God and in his gospel.
8-June-25Peter & Melody Sun (2nd year, p15): Give thanks for the opportunity to preach a sermon on Mark 1 at church. Pray for our family as we settle into a new church (St Mark’s West Wollongong) and start building some gospel partner relationships at our new church.
9-June-25Ben & Steph Fraser (2nd Year, p12): Please thank God for the safe arrival of our first child, Caleb. Please pray that I would continue to work at not seeking the approval of man, but instead being a faithful servant of Christ, especially in my study.
10-June-25Give thanks for the hard and faithful work of the kitchen team at College to provide meals for the College community daily. Pray that God would sustain them as they do their work.
11-June-25George and Koula Athas (Faculty, p48): Thank God for the opportunity to take study leave in the second half of 2025, and work on a commentary on Ezekiel for the Apollos series. Pray for improvement in and good management of long-term health issues within our family. Pray for day-to-day energy and resilience. Pray for continued growth in faith, hope, and love, particularly from spending much time in the scriptures.
12-June-25Stephen Strongman (2nd year, p15): Pray for awareness and love for new Mums and Dads in our year, and College as a whole. Pray for awareness of heightened anxiety in peers over coming weeks with exams.
Give thanks for the Christ-like commitment we have as peers toward each other, and how that’s expressed in the way we continue to involve ourselves in College life through periods of heightened business.
13-June-25Andrew & Joanna Barich (3rd Year, p11): As we head into eight months of marriage, please pray that we can love one another and serve each other well. Pray for our service at St Luke’s Liverpool and that we may continue to train people to step up into ministry responsibility.
14-June-25Anglicare Mission Prayer Point: Give thanks for opportunities to partner with Anglicare Chaplains and pastoral care workers at Anglicare Retirement Village, Castle Hill during mission in April. Pray for Anglicare’s work in sharing Jesus’ love to those in aged care, hospitals, prisons and more! Please pray for the residents who know and love Jesus that they will continue to be bold for the gospel as they have evangelistic conversations with their neighbours.
15-June-25James Beck (2nd Year, p11): Praise God for the joy second year has brought by going deeper in His word and His character. Pray that I continue to find a good routine with study and student ministry and that I would continue to grow in my faith in Christ throughout this year. Pray for exam prep that I will continue to recall what I have learned but also rely on His strength through the process of study.
16-June-25Aimee Gray (2nd year, p12): Please pray for wisdom in balancing College and external relationships, pray I would invest well in the College community even when it feels costly.
17-June-25Kessia Virah-Sawmy (3rd Year, p15); Please pray for David and I as we prepare for marriage. Pray that we would communicate well and continue to learn how to love and serve the Lord Jesus faithfully in marriage and in all of life.
Please also pray that we would make the most of our time at College — that we would learn deeply, be stretched, and grow. Additionally, please pray for me as I prepare to move churches in July — that I would settle in well and make the most of every opportunity to share the good news of Jesus.
18-June-25Tadhg & Hayley Richards (2nd year, p14): Please pray for Hayley, Charlotte and I as we settle in and serve our new church family at Northlight Anglican.
19-June-25Tasmania Mission Team: Time on the Tasmania mission highlighted the different gifts in the student team and how they are used by the Lord for his work. Praise God for the wonderful opportunities to share in the Lord’s harvest – witnessing the transformation of two parishioners moving from death to life as they trusted in Jesus as their Lord and Saviour. Please keep praying that God’s people will share with their friends the goodness of Jesus and invite them into the church community.
20-June-25Abe and Rachel Ng (2nd year, p13): Pray for Rach and I to bring our children, especially our toddler Sam, up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. Pray also for wisdom and energy to co-lead our church’s Youth Group, especially in the area of crowd control and relating to those who are more distractable.
21-June-25Give thanks to God for the Winter Break in the College calendar. Pray for the safety as students travel on holiday and to see family and friends. Pray that the break would be a time of rest and rejuvenation for students and faculty.
22-June-25TJ & Laura Moss (2nd year, p13): For TJ; would love prayer for wisdom and Godliness as I try to manage study responsibilities along with ministry and friend and family relationships. In particular as Laura and I are continuing with our Church’s (MBM Parramatta) Youth Ministry. For Laura; would love prayer for my growth and maturity over the course of my part time MTS with MBM Parramatta. As well as wisdom and guidance as I try to reach out to non-christian family members and friends
23-June-25Give thanks for the ‘College of Preachers’ three day training intensive that is happening this week. Give thanks for all those who are attending. Pray that it would be a useful time for those who attend.
24-June-25Austinmer Mission Prayer Point: Pray for the many connections the mission team at Austinmer had during the mission week in April. Pray that those who came to the Church by the beach will keep exploring who Jesus is. Please pray for those who aren’t currently attending church but love Jesus, may they reconnect with God’s family regularly.
25-June-25Pray for the students at College in their final year of study as they plan and prepare for next year and ministry in the future. Pray that they would be dependant on God for all things throughout this process.
26-June-25Give thanks for the local churches that are running PTC groups. Praise God for the opportunity that members of the churches have to learn about the Bible and grow in their faith.
27-June-25Liam & Laura Nolan (2nd year, p13): Please pray that Laura and I will continue to depend on God, as we figure out life as a family of four. Please ask that our family life would be defined by the fruit of the Spirit.
28-June-25Give thanks for the appointment of Tom Guthrie to the role of Research Support Officer in library. Pray that he would settle into the role and routines at College well.
29-June-25Nate & Helen Xing (2nd year, p15): Please be praying for Helen and I that we continue to grow in our habits of prayer and bible reading – both individually and together. Please pray that this would shape our joy in day to day life and our love for others.
30-June-25Brian & Theodora McAlea (2nd year, p13): Give thanks for how God is growing Theodora and me in our second year of College, settling us in Sydney and deepening friendships. Pray that he would use us to build his kingdom, both strengthening believers and saving the lost.
