Dan Lee

Dan Lee

December 20, 2024 by Moore College

Graduated 2011.

Dan Lee came to know Jesus at the end of high school through a local youth group where he first experienced Christian community and read the Bible for himself. After completing a ministry apprenticeship, he chose Moore College to deepen his theological understanding, particularly gaining a richer grasp of the Trinity. Now leading a new campus of MBM Church in Parramatta, Dan encourages all ministry apprentices to pursue theological education, equipping them to serve effectively—whether in paid ministry or as active church members.

David Misztal

December 9, 2024 by Moore College

Graduated 2005.

Children’s ministry is central to ministering at Wentworthville Anglican and is also central to David’s own walk with Christ. As a three-year-old, through the witness of his grandmother, David asked Jesus to be his Lord and Saviour. God has been faithful in growing David’s childlike faith and at Campus Bible Study at UNSW David was encouraged to pursue full-time ministry. Today witnessing in a suburb that is brimming with families, connections with children and parents, building relationships and sharing the love of Jesus, is core to the work at Wentworthville.

Lisa Boyd

December 9, 2024 by Moore College

Graduated 2010.

“Behold the man upon a cross, my sin upon his shoulders. Ashamed I hear my mocking voice call out amongst the scoffers.”

Hearing these words sung at church was the catalyst for Lisa to put her trust in Jesus as a young adult. Today, the challenge Lisa has as a Chaplain at Westmead Children’s Hospital is to distil the profound truth of the gospel into a simple, impactful message that can offer hope to those who are traumatised.

Emily Gilmour

December 9, 2024 by Moore College

Graduated 2009.

Emily had the privilege of knowing God from a very young age, with strong role models at church, active discipleship mentors as a young teenager and participation in university ministry, God directed Emily’s path to full-time theological education. God has continued to surprise Emily in the direction that he has taken her. With eyes originally set on doing mission work out of Australia Emily and her husband Stephen have found themselves working as parish missionaries in South Sydney at Sans Souci Anglican Church.

Brian Hall

December 9, 2024 by Moore College

Graduated 2009.

Brian’s road to Christ started with a street fight (as a youngster!) and ended with his opponent inviting him to youth group! The faithfulness of the teaching at youth group helped Brian discover the Bible, discover who God was, his own place in the world and what Jesus had done for him. Since College Brian has worked in a number of parishes across Sydney, from the south, to the west and now in the north, at Hornsby. Today Brian is welcoming people from all different places and backgrounds into God’s community at Hornsby.

Dr Veronica Hoyt joins the Moore College Faculty

November 25, 2024 by Moore College

On Friday evening the Governing Board approved the Principal’s nomination of Dr Veronica Hoyt to become a member of the Moore College Faculty. Veronica will take up the post of Lecturer in Ministry and Director of the Priscilla and Aquila Centre. Veronica and her husband Berwyn are members of St Thomas’ North Sydney where she has been the Women’s Minister.

Veronica has been a High School and TAFE teacher, and has served on the staff of Cornerstone Church in Christchurch New Zealand for ten years. She has a doctorate in English literature from the University of Canterbury in New Zealand and a Master of Theological Studies from Queensland Theological College. Her research for that degree was on “Complementarian Theology and Practice in Women’s Ministry across Australia and New Zealand”. She lists one of her hobbies and interests as ‘catching up with friends in quirky coffee shops’, so Newtown should be right up her alley!

The College Principal, Dr Mark Thompson welcomed Veronica’s appointment. “Veronica is just the person to build on the truly remarkable work started by Jane Tooher as the inaugural Director of the Priscilla and Aquila Centre. She has a delightfully warm Christian character, and significant experience in parish ministry both in New Zealand and Australia that, combined with her academic and teaching experience, makes her an ideal person to join the Faculty in this role.”

Veronica says, “It’s an honour to be joining the staff at Moore College. I have admired and respected Jane’s work at the College for a long time, and I am looking forward to building on the legacy that she leaves. Please pray for this season of transition, and that it would be used by God to advance his good purposes.”

Veronica will start at the College in mid-January 2025.
